Federal Government Resources
Small Business Administration (SBA) is the U.S. government agency that offers financial, technical and management assistance to small businesses. Use this website to access its programs for starting or running a business, for regulatory information, tutorials, and SBA office locations.  It also provides links to other useful sites.

Minority Business Development Agency, tasked with facilitating the growth of new and existing minority owned businesses.  It has a searchable database of minority-owned businesses, new business opportunities, business resources and MBDA office locations.

Small Business Administration is endeavoring to encourage and support women entrepreneurs. It maintains a set of links to sites for prospective and current small business owners.

Federal Government provides a number of links to business-related governmental agencies and policies.

Local Small Business Assistance

The local Small Business Development Center that services the greater Los Angeles region is housed at the College of the Canyons, with representatives spread across the San Fernando, Santa Clarita, Antelope and Conejo Valleys.  In addition to providing individualized counseling free of charge, they also host a variety of workshops dedicated to growing and maintaining a successful business.

The San Fernando Valley Economic Development Center was developed in order to assist local business owners in obtaining financing and training that they need to succeed in their businesses. Established in 1976, they are a leading resource for any
growing business.

SCORE Los Angeles provides free counseling and workshops from retired business leaders in a variety of industries and expertise areas.
